What role can the arts play in supporting longer-term recovery for women who have experienced domestic and family violence? How can partnerships between domestic violence support services and creative industries bring to fruition purposeful and uplifting engagement for survivors, professional performers and audiences alike?
Circus in a Teacup is a transformative art project using contemporary circus. Devised and produced by Vulcana Circus together with local Brisbane Domestic Violence Services, this project supports the recovery of survivors of domestic violence.
Come inside Vulcana Arts Hub, hear how and why the project evolved, its progress and achievements. Be part of insightful interviews with project directors and participants, be amazed by captivating and expressive performances, including aerialists. Discuss opportunities for you to apply arts-based approaches to domestic violence survivor support.
The Zonta Club of Brisbane North and others support the project through fundraising. The tour includes return bus transport to the studio, two hours at Vulcana and morning tea.
